We recommend this one for a party that you may not remember but will NEVER forget. Outgoing and showy is the name of this game. Guests must want to get into it for this party to be a blast. Attend a bar that rocks 80’s music, you’ll be a hit guaranteed – everyone likes to remember their childhood.
Invitations
Invite guests to wear their most memorable 80’s fashions…yes, it’s back. Puffy prom gowns, pegged pants, wrestling shoes, shirt ties & hypercolor.
Send pet rocks announcing the party information.
Send Scrunchies with friendship pins attached…to announce the event.
Decorations/Giveaways/Fun Stuff
Leg warmers…puffy paint each guest’s name on leg warmers
Head Bands – with funny names for each guest
Have a hairstylist on hand…it can be you armed with a krimping iron and a can of aquanet J HIGH HAIR and scrunchies.
Makeup – make sure your caboodle is loaded with pink blush and blue eyeshadow
Have everyone make friendship pins with safety pins and small beads.
Games
Who’s that band…pics of totally 80’s bands and guests have to guess who it is – to make it easier, have them match the name to the picture(see download)
Build the high hair – have a plethora of pipe cleaners and put the guests into teams – they must build the highest “hair” in a set amount of time…hair must stand on it’s own (without aqua net) so everyone needs a flat surface…no outside materials allowed
Boom Box Bands – make a boom box out of cardboard OR buy an old boom box at a thrift store…in the “tape deck” put lyrics written on paper to 80’s 1 hit wonder songs, you can either have one person per team sing the song for teammates to guess OR the maitre d reads the lyrics and everyone has to write down the title of the song (make sure title is NOT in the lyrics) (see download for lyrics)
Relay – Have a ton of accessories across from two teams. Each person has to run, put everything on (hopefully in the right places) and come back and remove them for the next person to put on. That person then has to put everything on and run and drop them into their original location. Clink-clank-clink bracelets, jellies shoes and leg warmers work well. Clip on earrings may also be a hit.
