Make FUN out of life
Valentine's Party

“I Choo Choo Choose you to be my Valentine!”

Invites
There are great websites out there to order fancy invitations, but if you want to save money and make them yourself, here are some ideas:
  •  Heart Cards: Very simple. Print out a fun saying from your computer and glue that to a heart made out of colored paper:
“On Sat, Feb 14, The Smith’s are hosting the 1st annual ‘Heart Bash’
Bring your Valentine at 7pm to 50 Harding Ave, Lancaster in a flash.
There will be dinner, drinks, sweetheart games and fun.
If you don’t have a date, there is no need to run.
All we ask is that your bring your favorite snack,
And casual dress for a great time, no reason to slack!!”

  • Valentines: Remember sending those funny cards to your friends in elementary school? Why not do it again? You can purchase those crazy valentines (“I Choo Choo Choose You to be my Valentine”) at your local dollar store. Make sure you put all your “party” information on the back and send them out. They are sure to get a good laugh!!
Decoration Ideas
Use lots of red, pink and white. Red table cloths, Pink and White Streamers. Maybe add some silver balloons around the party area.

Valentine confetti – you can find this at your local party store. Spread all over tables (messy, but that is why they make vacuums, right?)

This is supposed to be a “romantic” event. Hang twinkle lights all over. Put candles all around. Use these 2 things to light your event.

For fun, you can set up an area for the couples to get their pictures taken. Maybe use a wall in your house with nothing on it and hang or place tons of hearts and flowers around. As the couples arrive, have them go to that area to get their picture taken. (one of you kids, neighbors or parents can be the photographer.) Print the photo’s out and use as favors (see favors below).

Favors/ Prizes
Make sure you get every couple’s pictures (see above.) Print these out and put them in picture frames for guests to take home! Picture frames can be purchased at the dollar store!

Get a few bottles of “bubbly.” You can even print out some sticky labels to put on them (use these for prizes.) On the labels you can put “Winner of Newlywed game,” “Contestant in the Leg Feeling Contest,” etc.

Give goody bags to the couples (put naughty items in there – found at your local party store or Spencer’s.) Condoms, Sexy lottery tickets, lotions, etc.

Games
Match the couples (Ice breaker) –  Before the guests arrive come up with famous couples. Put their names on 2 pieces of paper (ex: Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt, Sonny & Cher, etc.) As guests arrive, tape a piece of paper with 1 name on their back.   The guest then mingle and ask YES OR NO questions to find their mate. This is just a fun “get to know you” game!

Newly-wed Game– You will need 4 couples to participate in this. Have the women step out of the room and the men can answer 4 questions. Bring the ladies back in and have them answer the same question. Then send the guys out and do the same thing…Your crowd will be sure to get a laugh from this game! The winner can receive champagne. (See questions on PRINTABLES PAGE.)

Leg Feeling Contest –
You need 3 couples with a good sense of humor for this. Have the men sit in chairs while their ladies stand behind them. Blindfold the ladies. The men then get up and switch chairs (IN REALITY, YOU ARE BRINING IN 3 NEW MEN TO SIT IN THEIR CHAIRS FROM THE AUDIENCE.) Have the men roll up 1 pant leg. Take the ladies (1 by 1) to feel the 3 men’s legs. The women then have to guess which leg is their mate’s! Next you have the ladies take off their blindfold to see “who their spending the night with!” FUNNY, your audience will love this one!!!

Dating Game
this is a great game for the “non-couples.” Pick 1 guy and 3 single ladies and separate them (with a screen, or wall.) Have the guy ask the ladies 3 questions and he has to choose the lady he finds most interesting. You can also use 1 lady and 3 guys.
Notes
With a Valentine’s Day Party you have 2 types of friends: Single and married (or dating.) Don’t discourage either type of friend to “bail out” of the party. Structure the party around the majority. For example, if there are more couples there, do the newly-wed game instead of the dating game (and vice versa.) The single people will share in the laughter of the couples that are being put on the spot. On the other hand, the couples will get a kick from the dating game
