Click on a title to the right for some ready-made games to use at your event. Remember, we are providing ideas for you to put your own twist onto. But, of course, feel free to use these items verbatim. We want you to have a wonderful time without the stress.
Adult parties can vary and we apologize if we have offended anyone with the games we have published. As i'm sure you understand, we are trying to appeal to all types of party planners. Have fun, your way.
Anytime Party Games - add these to your party in a pinch or as an extra. Adapt the games to your theme and play play play!!!
Skit in a Bag – grab misc things around your house and place them in a pillow case. If you can, add items that go with your party theme (animal party, get plastic animals, stuffed animals, leaves, etc.) When you are all done collecting 2 pillow cases worth, split the party into 2 groups (adults can be included!) Each group gets a bag and they have to create a skit using EVERYTHING in the bag! Fun times for all…
Balloon Fun – fill a bunch of balloons with YOUR air! What brightens up a party better than balloons?
-split the party into 2 groups. See which group can keep 5 balloons up the longest (you can also have them keep them up with their feet, head, knees, etc.)
-if you have long balloons, you can have a “javelin” throwing contest
-play balloon soccer
-split the party into 2 or more groups. Choose one person to be “it.” Give them a BIG shirt and BIG pants to wear over their clothes. The others in their group have to put as many balloons under their shirt and in their pants. Give them 1 minute – the team with the most balloons in their clothes wins!
-grab 2 laundry baskets and have the children have a “balloon foul shooting” competition.
*when the competition is over, see who can pop the most balloons… (easy clean up!)
Cup Stacking – Grab a few packs of plastic/paper cups. Have the children compete in a “stacking contest.” Or see who can create the best “cup castle".
Whisper Down the Lane – examples of lines to start with “the bird flew over the coocoo’s nest at midnight”…”every time it rains it pours when the old man snores”
Scavenger Hunt – make photocopies and cut out objects that pertain to your party (example: pictures of a crown for the prince/princess party.) Choose a room in your house and scotch tape these photocopies all around that room – hiding some and putting some in the wide open. Have the children grab as many as they can. Tell them once they find one, they have to stick it somewhere on their body (it’s more fun this way!) Whoever finds the most is the winner!
Pin the ____ on the ____ - be creative here. Pin on tails, hats, nose, scarves, cell phones, etc.
Relays – you can adapt relay races to any environment. Sitting and passing things, crawling or scooting, throwing (soft) things can be inside games. Running/skipping/hopping, water play, throwing (not-so-soft) things can be outside activities.
What’s in the bag? – place household items in paper bags and number the bags (remember what is in each numbered bag. Give everyone a piece of paper with the corresponding numbers. Ask participants to pass the bags around and shake, squeeze, feel them. They should write down what they think each item is. The tiebreaker bag can be full of change and participants have to guess how much money is in the bag. Open each bag once everyone has completed their papers.
Mold This – all you need is modeling dough and some index cards. Write down a few items pertaining to your party theme and split participants into teams (pairs works well). Show the “molder” the word and give them 45 seconds to make the item out of the dough. Their teammates guess and first team to guess wins. After 45 seconds, stop and show everyone EVERYONE’s model. You can give a hint at this point as well. If no one guesses correctly, go on to the next molder and item.
