o What other types of food grow on trees?
o Does anything else grow on trees?
- What else do trees and plants give us? Air, homes for animals, shelter, fun
Activity – seedlings growing into trees
- hula hoops are their flower pots
- they start small like seeds (crawl in a ball)
- moms/dads act like the sun and then act like rain
- children slowly grow roots – feet are stuck in the ground and they are squatting
- more sun/rain
- children slowly stand up straight – stem/trunk
- more sun/rain
- children slowly spread their arms out wide to grow petals/branches

Put living things into 2 categories…plants and animals (pics from magazines) and the children glue them onto two different papers – one column is plants, one column is animals
Paint a tree – finger paints…the side of their hand dipped in brown paint is the trunk, then they dip their fingers in different colors to make the leaves
